I am happy to have this week’s Tuesdaytales Judgemasters take over:
HONORABLE MENTIONS!Rebecca Grace Allen – @RGraceAllen The build up is beautiful and the tone nice and steamy, while at the same time being profoundly uncomfortable. It reads like addiction, and I kept going back for another taste.
Sareese – @SareeseFeet This has a gorgeous voice to it, not easy to do in 100 words. The ending has more interpretations than the one on the surface, which gives it more depth.
David A. Ludwig –
I believe everyone has a story. I have several.
Outcast: The rhythm is compelling and the single word transitions add a real punch. The progression of her emotional reaction reads true and gives us insight into her character. This is a complete story, but I still want to follow her – both forward and back – to learn more and see what she does with her anger and resolve.
Of course she’d been mad at them. Furious.
After dedicating her life to the glory of God—twenty years of her life—the Church cast her out without so much as a warning.
She’d been furious with herself first. Reflex.
Staggering aimless through the plains gave her time to think. Insight.
Communion with a demon was a mortal sin, but how could she have known it was a demon—not a holy spirit—there in the heart of the cathedral?
No matter, the frontier had given her something better. Freedom.
How could this power possibly be a curse? Anathema.
