    Judges notes:

    “I really puzzled over who to pick for the winner this week, and it was a close contest on several accounts. In the end, I kept coming back to Sammy’s story – I just wanted to know more about these people, and who sends the balloons, and, well, Sammy just did an excellent job setting off my imagination. If that’s not a good criterion for picking a winner, I don’t know what is.”

    TUESDAY TALE:

    The balloons arrived just after Lilly left for school. Lauren’s heart sank as she viewed their gaudy cheerfulness. She didn’t read the attached card, didn’t need to.

    “The prescited clan,” her grandfather had called them. He could afford to be cheerful. In three hundred years he’d been the first allowed to live that long.

    Lauren could do no more than leave a message for Mark to call her brother. “Tell him the balloons arrived.” Jeff was the only one left who could explain everything, the only one to teach Lilly.

    For Lauren the end had come.

    HONORABLE MENTIONS!

    @davidaludwig

    for the utter poignancy of the emotions he presents. It’s not entirely clear what happened to lead up to this story, and I like that for the same reason that I picked @sammyjwebb as the winner – plenty of room for imagination to fill in the gaps.

    @jend_author and @zombiemechanics

    for taking the picture provided in unexpected and unique directions. @jend_author turns the whole thing into a dark metaphor, which is right up my alley, and @zombiemechanics both entertained me and re-oriented my viewpoint I would not have thought to tell it from the balloons’ point of view, either,
    Congratulations to everybody for a really good week!

     Everyone spread the word of  @sammyjwebb, @davidaludwig , @jend_author@zombiemechanics and @JonathonVolkmer for his awesome judgemastery!

    I would also like to invite our winner  @sammyjwebb to be a judge for next Tuesdaytales on April 10th , please let me know if your available 🙂
