    Challenge #25

    WINNER

     Kelley Lane

    @Call_Me_Bookish

    Certified word nerd & media maven @ballpointnews. Along with pics of my German shep., she tweets about all things bookish! Blog http://bit.ly/qplxQn #amwriting

    Winner: @Call_Me_Bookish – CMB’s fiction draws the reader into a tranquil sense of place and then delivers a last-second gut-punch. That’s the stuff great flash fiction is made of.

    TUESDAY TALE:

    To everyone else it was a “road closed” sign, but, to her, it was Hell.

    It meant taking a detour that passed by the house that had made her feel alive for the very first time. That house now made her feel as dead as the oak stump in the backyard. The one that once held the tire swing that they took turns swinging each other on during perfect, suburban summers.

    That deep ache rose, huge like a legion, and, God, did she miss her best friend.

    As she drove by, she put her hand to the glass. “RIP, Love.”

    @100 Words

    HONORABLE MENTIONS!

    @zombiemechanics – J. Whitworth Hazzard’s writings often make me laugh, and this one was no exception. I’m a sucker for this kind of salty dialogue.

    @JonathanVolkmer – I love the idea of demonic immigration, and I also bonus points to Jonathan for working in the entire “our name is Legion” phrase.

    @caramichaels – Cara’s prose is always tight, dense, and crackling with energy. She packs ten pounds of description into a two-pound box.

    Everyone spread the word of the Call_Me_Bookish and SurlyMuse for the awesome judgemastery!

    I would also like to invite our winner Kelley  to be a judge for next Tuesdaytales on January 31st , please let me know if your available 🙂

    Finally got internet back YAY! – darn those cable repairs.
