    TUESDAY TALE:

Not only a well-written tale, but a well-built ‘gotcha’ ending (in only 100 words!!). I love a good unreliable narrator. The POV convinces the reader that the child is the next demon seed… right up until the child’s ‘offenses’ are revealed. At that point, Mom scared the bejeezus out of me and I just wanted to grab the little girl and run. Great story!

    Mommy Dearest

She was more than defiant. She was pure evil. But no one believed me.

My daughter sat, cross-legged on the bed. Her tiny pigtails stuck out haphazardly, disarmingly adorable. The fragile shoulder blades protruded from her back as she gulped in air, sobbing again. I closed my eyes and steeled myself against the sound. I wouldn’t fall victim to her deceptive innocence.

“Please, Mommy. I didn’t mean it.”

Her angelic little voice might fool her father, but not me. I knew the truth. I took another step into the room, reminding myself of all of her insults. She would pay.

    HONORABLE MENTIONS!

@rastrohman – What parent hasn’t fought his or her child over eating dinner? When you find out this little girl is making the conscious decision to starve rather than eat people though, it elevates her defiance from willfulness to a more meaningful objection.

@LupusAnthropos for blowing up Mom and Dad with a look (eek!)

@jezri1  Lisa McCourt Hollar for her vampire play date gone REALLY wrong

Everyone spread the word of the @JenD_Author  and Caramichaels for her awesome judgemastery!

I would also like to invite our winner Jen  to be a judge for next Tuesdaytales on January 17th , please let me know if your available 🙂

Sorry for the delay everyone, had some technical errors and yesterday I couldnt even give shout outs because twitter was giving me problems… hopefully all will be better next week!
